whipped and creamy chocolate spread, available in
two varieties: Chocolate and Milk/Chocolate two

Brinkers takes over the sales, marketing and

Masterfoods’ Snickers and Milky Way chocolate spreads

Brinkers is the first chocolate spread manufacturer to
develop a range of organic chocolate spreads under the
brand name It’s My Life.

The new chocolate spreads factory is realised in
Enschede, Holland, introducing the latest technology

The management of Brinkers is taken over by Bernard
and Joa Brinkers, the fourth generation responsible
for the growing family business.

The introduction of the now classic Nusco hazelnut
chocolate spread.

1948 |
One of the founder’s sons, also named Bernardus,
starts a new venture introducing a brand-new product:
a chilled chocolate butter, marketed under the brand
name Choba. This product was basically the first
chocolate spread ever on the market and even today,
Choba is still a very well-known product in the
Netherlands.

Brinkers’ first margarine factory is opened.

1889 |
Brinkers Food, one of the most innovative chocolate
spread producers in the market, is founded in
Zoetermeer, The Netherlands, by Bernardus Brinkers.
Originally Brinkers was a small trading company,
specialised in the distribution of margarine, in those
days a new product used as a replacement for the much
more expensive butter.
